Hello All,
Below is information for two events: the Central Texas Camporee and an upcoming training session by Adventist Community Services.
CAMPOREE:
The Central Texas Camporee 2016, “Walking with God in the Wilderness,” will be held in Driftwood, Texas March 25-27. Registration and location are available at http://centraltexaspathfinders.weebly.com/ctxcamporee2016.html. You will need to use your director password. The fee this year is $20 per person, we will set up collection shortly.
There is a brief questioner on the registration form to let us know what staff or older TLTs you have available to assist. There will be many ways to help out. And additional information will be coming out over the next few days.
We will also be working on a service project at the Camporee this year. Adventist Community Services is looking for assistance in building Personal Care Kits that will be used in Central Texas this summer. Attached is a supply list for the kits. Please consider bringing supplies for at least 5 kits per club, if possible. We will have a special time at Camporee where we will gather to make the kits together. If you have never made these kits before, it is a fairly easy process. All supplies need to be new - you can usually get bulk packs of many of these. Seek donations from your churches, to get involved as well. ACS plans to use some 1500 kits this summer. We won’t likely build that many, but lets see how far along we can help them toward that goal.
ADVENTIST COMMUNITY SERVICE TRAINING:
Adventist Community Services (ACS) will be at the San Marcos Church April 30 and May 1 to provide training in disaster preparedness and donations operations. These are open to the Churches, but there is a special call for Pathfinder leaders and youth. If you would like to further prepare your Pathfinders and Staff for community service and to know how to respond to disasters (we have no shortage here in Central Texas), please consider attending.
Sabbath afternoon, April 30, from 3:00-5:00 pm, ACS Directors will be presenting "Introduction to Disaster Preparedness". Learn how to prepare yourself, your family and your church for disasters, large or small. This training is suitable for all ages of Pathfinders and Staff.
Sunday, May 1, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, ACS Directors will be presenting "Donations Operations". This is the basic ACS Disaster Response (DR) training course. This class teaches the basic of donations operations, which is the major function if ACS DR. It includes instruction for collecting, sorting, storing and distributing donated goods. Upon successful completion of this course, volunteers are eligible to receive an ACS DR credential ($7). This is more appropriate for older Pathfinders, TLTs and Staff.
Thank you all
