CTX Calendar of Events for 2015-16
We are still finalizing some aspects of the schedule, but here is the basic outline.
Dec 19 (tentative): PBE Practice
Feb 6: PBE Area
Mar 5: PBE Conference
Mar 19: PBE Union
Mar 25-27: CTX camporee
Apr 15-17: PBE Division
For the Camporee, we need a few more representatives from Area clubs to join the planning committee. The volunteers do not need to be directors, they nee dot be any staff member with an interest in assisting with the planning and organization, who can commit time and effort to ensure we have a well planned and well run camporee.
We are considering two Honor Fairs in different parts of Central Texas, at least one of which will focus on health and science. We are looking at dates in November and January. If your church or school has the space and you are interested in hosting and assisting in arrangements, please contact us soon.
We are also looking for a volunteer host church for the Pinewood Derby. The track is currently in Austin.
Finally, we are trying something a little different this year for the Area. Because Central Texas spreads all the way from Waco to Laredo, from Del Rio to Corpus Christi, from Victoria to Kerrville, it is often difficult for all of our clubs to attend all events. That is a lot of driving. So this year, the Area Coordinators are coming to you - but we need YOU to be involved in planning. We are going to loosely divide Central Texas for this activity into five sub-regions: The Laredo to Del Rio border region, the Corpus Christi-Victoria region, the Greater San Antonio region, the Greater Austin region, and the Waco-Killeen-Temple region. These are not formal divisions, they are just for convenience sake. However, we ask that the directors in these general areas (be creative with where the boundaries of these regions are - they may be a bit fuzzy, and that is OK) work together to identify a sub-region-wide activity, event, outreach, training, or other program. As you work together, please also work with the Area Coordinators, so we can balance dates for events, assist with ideas, and ensure that we can participate in these events with you. We want to get out to meet with all of the clubs, and while we may not be able to do it one at a time, we can do it in these sub-regional groupings.
If you click on the Directors Corner tab on the CTX website, you will find an excel file that lists all of the clubs and their directors and contact information. This is last year’s list, so we need you to send in any updates, but also you can use this to contact other clubs in your general area to start planning.
We are happy to welcome at least THREE new clubs this year in our area: Georgetown, Kerrville, and Temple.
We are looking forward to another great year, and to serving each and every Pathfinder Club in Central Texas.
Mar 5: PBE - nivel Conferencia
Mar 19: PBE - nivel Unión
Mar 25-27: CTX camporee
