The Central Texas Pinewood Derby was held at the Stonehill Church March 1. There was a low turnout this year due to weather and other activities, and because we missed the Pinewood Derby last year, but nonetheless we had nearly 30 cars from 3 different clubs take part. This year’s Derby was held a little different - cars were weighed in, and then given time trials to determine which cars would compete in the final races. This year’s fastest and most creative cars all came from the Austin Knights club.

Central Texas Pathfinder Clubs feature prominently in the Adventist Mission video “Faith In Action,” highlighting the service project opportunities at the International Camporee in Oshkosh last year.
Elsewhere in Central Texas, the Philadelphia Flame held a late Induction program, and a new club in Georgetown is just starting up (Welcome!). The Guardians of the Gulf club have been joining their church twice a month in preparing food and distributing it to the homeless. They also spent a weekend following up on many of the honors from the CTX Honor Fair. And the San Antonio Fil/Am International Thunder Hawks (F.A.I.T.H.) held an 8 day youth led seminar, getting a jump start on the Central Texas Month of Mission in March, and reaching out to their community with a program titled Gods at War.

The Texas Conference level Pathfinder Bible Experience program will be held in Houston on March 7, with eight Central Texas Pathfinder teams taking part. And we are now just a month away from the Texas Conference Pathfinder Camporee, RISEN!, to be held at Lake Whitney Ranch. Don’t forget, registration is due by March 11. The Camporee theme focuses on the final moments of Christ’s life, and his resurrection. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

Pathfinders is a faith-based co-educational youth leadership and development program, boasting some 2 million members worldwide. The Pathfinder program provides a safe and nurturing environment where youth are able to develop and strengthen their spiritual, mental, physical and emotional skills, to participate in service to the community and to God, and to spend time in nature overcoming challenges and appreciating creation. The Central Texas Area comprises some 30 Pathfinder clubs, stretching from Laredo in the south to Waco in the north. The Area staff coordinate region-wide training and activities, and support the local club staff and members.
