We held the Central Texas Area Pathfinder Bible Experience this weekend, with 27 teams from around the area representing 18 different Pathfinder Clubs. The Pathfinders have been studying the Book of Matthew, learning and memorizing passages, and this Sabbath was an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge they have been gaining. In Central Texas, we had five teams that placed first (Austin South SAILS, San Antonio Durango Xtremes, Scenic Hills Jaguars Team 1, San Antonio Jaguars Team 2, and Stonehill Austin Knights), three with a second place finish (Atascosa Angels, Austin Spanish First Los Centinelas Team 2, and Victoria Hawks Team 1), and one team at third place (Austin Spanish First Los Centinelas Team 1). First and second place teams will move on to the Texas Conference level Pathfinder Bible Experience in Houston on March 7, where 42 teams from across Texas will participate. Congratulations to all of the Central Texas teams!

Other events and activities around the area:
This weekend, three Pathfinder Clubs (Austin South SAILS, Bastrop Peace Warriors, and Stonehill Austin Knights) joined together to assist in the ongoing tree planting at Bastrop State Park, as part of the reforestation efforts from the 2011 wildfires. Joined also by a small group from IKEA, the 50 Pathfinders, staff and parents planted a total of 1302 trees Sunday morning. In January, the Philadelphia Flames took part in their local Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade, the Atascosa Angels participated in their monthly visit to the local nursing home, and the San Antonio Fil-Am International Thunder Hawks passed out literature, and took bread to needy families and individuals around their neighborhood. The Austin South SAILS joined with the Joshua Crossroads Wranglers for a weekend of paleontology, visiting the dinosaur tracks at Glen Rose, the SWAU paleontology lab, and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. It is truly wonderful to see the Pathfinder Clubs active in their communities, visiting others, and making their presence known - providing numerous opportunities for direct and indirect witnessing.

What’s next?

Coming up on March 1 is the Central Texas Area Pinewood Derby, followed by the March 7 Conference level Pathfinder Bible Experience, the March 28 Union Pathfinder Bible Experience, and the Easter weekend Texas Pathfinder Camporee.
