The Division level Pathfinder Bible Experience April 24-26 saw 128 teams gather at Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, representing all nine Unions in the North American Division, as well as the British Union from the United Kingdom. Of the 128 total teams, 24 were from the Southwestern Union, 19 of those from Texas, and two of those from the Central Texas Area.
We are happy to announce that the Durango Xtremes team received a second place finish, and the Scenic Hills Jaguar team ranked among the first place teams.
The Pathfinder Bible Experience has been growing since its founding in the 2011-12 Pathfinder year, when just 25 teams arrived for the Division level event. The Pathfinder Bible Experience is more than a competition, it is a ministry. There are numerous reports of the event drawing the Pathfinder Club and church congregation closer together in Bible study, of drawing youth to Christ, and of course of giving the Pathfinders a stronger knowledge of the Bible, which will serve them throughout their lives.
NAD Pathfinder Director James Black noted, “The reality is that God is moving in the lives of our Pathfinders through His Word. This is not just a game but a ministry that is sharpening and preparing our kids to spread the gospel of Jesus across the globe.” Black also commented on the value of studying and in many cases memorizing the scripture as preparation for the PBE, “Once they learn it they will never forget it!"
Congratulations to all of the clubs that participated at any level of the PBE this year, and especially to the Pathfinders who committed to studying and learning their Bible. We look forward to next Pathfinder year, as we study the book of Exodus, and we are encouraging 100% Central Texas Pathfinder Club participation in the Pathfinder Bible Experience.
