CTX Updates and Announcements

5/6/2015

Hello all,

The Pathfinder year is nearly over, and Investitures are coming. Just a reminder to use the request form in the Director’s Corner to arrange for a Council member to be present at your Investiture service. With time getting short, it may be difficult to guarantee, but we are doing our best to work with each club.

A few other items:

1. We are looking for approximately 8 volunteers to be on the committee to help plan and coordinate the 2015 Central Texas Pathfinder Camporee in October. We will be meeting virtually during the summer to make plans and arrangements. The tentative theme is “Walking with God in the Wilderness,” building off of the Exodus story. Please contact me if you have a staff member or parent (or TLT) who is willing to commit to this committee.

2. A reminder that we can still use some additional Pathfinders and staff for offering collection at the two GC sessions. Whole clubs are perfectly welcome, and encouraged. You can register individuals at  http://form.jotformpro.com/form/51095094299969 . Information will be sent later to those who have registered.

3. At the end of the summer, we will be having a Texas-wide AYMT (staff) training session. We are looking for additional instructors, who have experience or skills in teaching, and in the subject areas of the AYMT curriculum (see http://www.pathfindersonline.org/leaders/aymt-training). Please contact me as soon as possible if you or a staff member has an interest in instructing, and what knowledge area they possess. We will distribute more information as it becomes available, and will assist in preparation and development of teaching materials and class syllabus.

4. If you didn’t know already, the Southwestern Union Camporee is being moved a year early, and will be held in October 2016. The theme is “Stand Firm.” This year, they are opening up to all the opportunity to submit a suggested logo for the Camporee (for pins, patches and shirts). All logos must be in color and digital, and must be submitted to Gene Clapp ([email protected]) no later than March 31, so only a few weeks to work on this. The following are required elements of the Camporee Logo for the 2016 Southwestern Union “Stand Firm” Pathfinder Camporee:

Camporee Name:        Stand Firm (somewhere include Pathfinder Camporee)
Union:                Southwestern Union
Date:                October 20-23, 2016
Locations:            Lake Whitney Ranch, Texas or LWR
Include:            Pathfinder Logo somewhere, somehow

Submissions will become the property of the Southwestern Union Youth Department.  It is possible we may combine elements of multiple submissions to make one accepted graphic design.
