CTX Update - PBE, Camporee, Honor Fair

1/15/2017

Hello all,

Thank you to those who came out to the PBE practice. We are looking forward to February PBE event.

************Please register your PBE teams soon at: https://form.jotform.com/63186 360251957

The Division PBE location has changed - it will now be in Chicago, rather than Grand Rapids.

For early preparation, please email back to us how many teams you think will be going from your club (please let us know if it is zero as well). This is a pre-count, and we need to know by Thursday so we can plan food for the participants.

We are finalizing the preparation for the Texas Camporee this weekend, and the booklet should be out in a week or so. One thing I will leak - better practice up knots and lashing. Seriously. Lots of knots and lashing. Start practicing now.

For the upcoming Honor Fair, we are still finalizing the location. We could also use a few more volunteers to assist with teaching honors. We are focusing on usable skills, and are particularly interested in instructors who can offer automobile mechanics and small engine repair (both will also need to have hands on elements, so we need a car or two that can be used to actually work on, as well as some lawnmowers or other small engines, plus tools). We are also looking for first aid and rescue sorts of skills (even if not complete honors) as well as knot tying and lashing. If you are interested or willing to teach an honor, with hands on experiences for the pathfinders. Let me or Mel know if you are willing to help out.

More info to come, and some adjustments we are doing with our Area staff to try and serve you directors and the pathfinders better.
