Hello all,
As many of you are aware (and preparing), the Texas Conference Camporee is rapidly approaching. In order to provide sufficient appropriate Sabbath afternoon activities for Pathfinders and staff, we are looking for one or two more individuals from Central Texas to provide two one-hour programs for Pathfinders. These programs are ideally ones that will take place outdoors, involve some activity (not just sitting and listening), and be appropriate for a Sabbath afternoon. They are primarily being offered in English, though we will accept Spanish language programs that also offer translation. As an example, one of the programs from Central Texas will take groups of youth and staff on a nature photography hike, with a focus on methods and techniques, seeing in nature, and "collecting" images as part of many of the pathfinder nature honors. Someone may consider offering hour-long sessions on Christian Drama, or finding object lessons in nature, or perhaps a Biblical scavenger hunt (using Bible verses to identify items like birds, trees, flowers, etc) that teams must find. There are many different ideas out there. Please let me know if you are willing to take the lead on a Sabbath afternoon activity for Pathfinders, and a brief description. We still have space for one or two more activities, and by providing these activities, we also are providing some order and continued focus for the Sabbath, something that will help all staff and directors, as well as give the Pathfinders a more positive experience at Camporee.
Thank you
